Meet the Founder

dave abrahamsen

founder + chief experience officer

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and strategist with over 20 years of experience working across branding, marketing, design, and interactive media. My work balances creative exploration with technical understanding and systems thinking, moving fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution.

 

I’ve led and supported remote and on-site teams and contributed to work for organizations including Wilson Sporting Goods, Allstate, Comcast, and professional sports teams across Chicago, while also supporting grassroots and global efforts focused on environmental and cultural regeneration.

 

Outside of work, I spend time with my wife and two kids watching movies, playing games, making music, painting, taking photos, and exploring nature.

    This Spaceship Earth

    Nonprofit > Climate change & sustainability

     

    The project established a clear, differentiated brand system designed to support growth, sponsorship, and public engagement. Grounded in science but intentionally human, the brand uses a blue-forward visual language and space-based perspectives to stand apart from typical eco narratives, referencing Earth as the “blue marble.” Messaging softened complex, data-heavy topics to feel more inviting, empowering, and relatable, creating a foundation for consistent storytelling across digital and physical touchpoints, including lead capture pages built around educational ebooks and automated email communications to support scheduled updates and ongoing audience engagement.

    Grayslake Village Center

    Municipal > Community & economic development

     

    The Grayslake Village Center brand balances a modern, energetic identity with references to the city’s history and architecture. A triangular form—drawn from local rooflines and the city flag—anchors the logo and visual system, extending into patterns and wayfinding. A refreshed green palette introduces a brighter, contemporary tone while remaining grounded in Grayslake’s character.

     

    A complementary sustainability badge was developed as part of the system, reinforcing local values and extending the identity into storefronts in a simple, community-facing way.

    Hospitality > Sustainable restaurant

     

    A seasonally inspired restaurant rooted in sustainability, organic ingredients, and an on-site greenhouse. The project redefined the brand system to better support real-world use, creating a cohesive identity across physical and digital touchpoints. The visual language was modernized to improve functionality and clarity while allowing the food, beverages, and space to remain the focal point, reinforcing a warm, approachable fine-dining experience.

     

    Marketing efforts supported both visibility and retention, including SEO-informed content and UI optimizations, coordinated paid media, and email segmentation with automated follow-ups to past guests.
